Paklenica National Park lies on the southern slopes of Velebit, with the entrance at Starigrad Paklenica. It is about 57 kilometres from Polača, roughly a 50-minute drive. The park is known for the Velika and Mala Paklenica canyons and for its hiking and climbing routes. Manita peć cave is a protected geomorphological monument.
